It’s Lunch! time
This September saw the return of Lunch! 2019 at ExCel. The biggest trade show for cafes, leisure caterers, food retailers and food-to-go operators, the show is a firm calendar favourite for brands, operators and catering buyers alike. It is renowned for attracting big players and decision makers in foodservice and retail looking for the latest in snacking and lunchtime offerings and this year did not disappoint.
Innovation was the word of the show, with many exhibitors showcasing new products, flavour varieties and sustainable packaging solutions – with better for you ranges continuing to dominate. We had tried BBQ-flavoured crickets, sugar-free soft drinks and gut-fortifying Kefir within our first half an hour at the show!

Delicious quality coffee was available from the Jacobs Douwe Egberts team, serving new premium bean brand White Ox, which produces a quality coffee base perfect for espresso or blending with milk, dairy-free alternatives or syrups to cater to today’s discerning coffee consumers. The stand also featured Cafitesse Excellence Touch, a touch screen liquid coffee machine for operators wanting to serve personalised beverages to large volumes of people at speed, which has just been shortlisted for The Caterer’s Product Excellence Awards in recognition for its…well, excellence.
At Kepak’s stand visitors were invited to try the new All Day Breakfast Muffin, an offering for on-the-go menus and supporting operators to serve convenient and tasty options that also tap into the popular breakfast occasion.
The show continues to grow year on year in line with consumer demand for on-the-go food options, inspiring operators with ideas and products that support them to stand out from competitors and satisfy diners. We are sure that next year will be even bigger!
