Record attendance at Lunch! 2018

As the memory of this long, hot summer fades and everyone returns from their holidays raring to get back to work, a number of hospitality and catering events kick-started the season. September meant Hubbies were out and about visiting a number of exciting trade shows including Lunch! and Takeaway & Restaurant Innovation Expo as well as The Restaurant Show in early October.

Lunch! 2018, the UK’s leading food trade show for food-to-go, celebrated its second year at the ExCel after moving from the Business Design Centre in Islington. With almost 2,000 exhibitors present and more than 7,000 visitors attending – the biggest turnout the show has ever had – the atmosphere was buzzing. The show was also great for Hub clients, with a number of brands present, including Big Al’s Foodservice, JDE, leading smoothie producer, Love Taste Co. and Kombucha brand Wild Fizz.

Products that benefited gut health as well as better-for-you foods prevailed at the this year’s show, proving that the trend for health is showing no signs of slowing down. Convenience remained king, with most exhibitors promoting grab and go formats. Furthermore, following the heightened awareness around single-use plastic, a number of brands including, Love Taste Co. and CanO Water, showcased more environmentally friendly packaging in a bid to cut down on plastic waste.

Following a successful Lunch! 2018, we’re really looking forward to seeing what next year’s show will offer.
