Creating The Kerry Street Food Market
If its July then it means that LACA The Main Event in upon us again! A highlight of the educational catering calendar, LACA is perfectly timed for school caterers to start planning next year menus.
For the fourth consecutive year, we headed to LACA with our client Kerrymaid to transform The York Room into the place to be for education caterers during the two day event.
Tasked with aligning the Kerrymaid and Chef’s Pass brands, we needed a theme that suited both brand portfolios, and also illustrated how school caterers could best serve on-trend menus, while adhering to school food standards.
Knowing that for many secondary school caterers keeping on-site is often a challenge, we wanted to demonstrate the ease with which high-street favourites could be replicated in a healthy and nutritious way.
Ahead of LACA, our design team got to work producing graphics for our market stalls and sandwich boards, whilst the PR team negotiated the finer details of the transformation which included turning a hotel function room into a cobbled market square.
By transforming the York Room into Kerry’s first ever pop-up Street Food Market, we aimed to encourage caterers through the door with the tantalising smell of fresh, authentic global food, while offering a place to network and get first hand information on the Kerrymaid and Chef’s Pass product ranges – our Prosecco stand helped a little bit too!
Kerrymaid and Chef’s Pass street food inspired grab and go menu included Chinese chicken noodle bowls, strawberry and banana smoothies and mini spinach and sweet potato pasties and they were all really well received.
This year’s York Room definitely stood out with a constant flow of visitors and some fantastic sales leads for Kerrymaid and Chef’s Pass.
We’re already excited to start planning for next year. Watch this space!
