An award-winning week

Last night we attended The Caterer Product Excellent Awards. The annual industry awards hosted by products and suppliers editor Lisa Jenkins, acknowledge the excellence and innovation in food, drink and equipment within the hospitality sector.

This year, The Caterer hosted the event at the prestigious In & Out Club, a private members club located at St James Square. The renowned naval and military venue is steeped in history and was an ideal place for networking and saluting the manufacturers and producers of an array of exciting, award winning products.

We were delighted to have two clients shortlisted as finalists this year. In the Soft Drinks and Juices category, Da Vinci Gourmet’s Botanical Garden Mint-flavoured syrup was recognised for its tangy flavourand cooling notes. While Tetley’s Camomile and English Breakfast blends were up against Country Range’s 100% Rainforest Alliance One Cup Tea Bags in the Tea and Hot Chocolate category. The beverages were judged on flavour, variants, aroma and quality and Tetley’s much loved classic English Breakfast cuppa won the category!

Lisa described the winning blend as a “Proper cup of tea, that really hits the spot with a pleasant flavour. The judges also complimented the brewed colour and taste.”

The night was a fantastic round up of the year for Tetley, who last week won the Federation of Wholesale Distributor’s Gold Medal Award for Foodservice and a great accolade to their 180th anniversary of quality blends.
