As we leave one year behind, it’s customary to reflect on the past 12 months before forging ahead with the new year. And while 2021 may be a year many would rather forget, there is a lot to be learnt from the unprecedented challenges businesses faced during this time, and much to be proud of.
The foodservice and retail industries rose to those challenges, from navigating the significant supply chain issues, the shift to digital and delivery, not to mention the overwhelming pressures on operators at the coalface of trading uncertainty. Not only did we see these businesses flex and adapt but we also witnessed great moral action in supporting the healthcare sectors and the most vulnerable in society.
The Hub reached out to our network of operators and retailer colleagues to share their most valuable lessons learnt over the past year and the resultant wisdom they will carry over to the next and beyond.
